Local Indie Author Collection Policy

Lawrence Public Library is all about connecting readers and writers, and encourages local authors to submit their work for consideration for inclusion in the Library’s Local Indie Author Collection. The purpose of the Local Indie Author Collection is to highlight works by indie authors in the Northeast Kansas area that may be of local interest.

LOCAL INDIE AUTHOR COLLECTION CRITERIA

Lawrence Public Library’s Local Indie Author Collection includes works by authors who are current or long-time residents of the Library’s service area, or individuals who created works while living in the area. This collection may also include materials published locally, and works by creative artists whose works have been written, produced, and/or performed locally. Scholarly works not intended for a general interest (i.e. dissertation, theses, etc.) and books that are not bound in a way that they can withstand shelving and circulation will not be included.

Materials in the Local Indie Authors Collection will be subject to regular evaluation, and items in poor physical condition or that are not circulating regularly may be withdrawn.
